What went well this week?
The Weekly Wins worksheet is all about building a habit of reflecting on things that went well. Even during our worst weeks, we have small accomplishments that make us proud. The trick is to slow down long enough to reflect on those wins and be grateful.
This worksheet is adapted from an interview with Peter Diamandis (best known for founding the X Prize Foundation). Peter mentions his daily practice of identifying “five wins.” This regular reflection is simple, but you can see how it would build momentum and confidence.
Reflecting on daily wins seemed a bit ambitious to me, so I went with a weekly schedule. In addition to naming your wins, I think it is worth breaking down the factors or actions that contributed to success. Perhaps with enough regular reflection, you’ll find the patterns or approaches that work best for you.
Lastly, as I was reflecting on my wins, I realized that most of them are not solo endeavours. I regularly turn to others to help test my assumptions, provide me with feedback, or deliver a fresh perspective. The last step in the Weekly Wins worksheet is to name the people who helped you win.
For extra bonus points: once you’ve named your accomplices, shoot them a quick message to thank them!
