Course Questions

  • Experiences will vary based on which course you take. Most courses are designed to be completed within the calendar month. Instead of cramming your course into an intensive workshop, we intentionally spread it out so that you learn in smaller chunks.

  • With synchronous classes and asynchronous activities, the average participant spends 12-15 hours per course (roughly 3-4 hours each week). Refer to your outline for course-specific information and estimates.

  • Our courses are open to anyone. We typically take learners who work in the public sector and for-impact organizations (e.g., libraries, museums, charities, etc.). However, the courses and learning approach can be easily adapted to corporate settings. Connect with us if you have questions.

  • All our short courses are online experiences. Refer to the specific course pages for more information.

  • After you register you will receive a welcome email with access information and important dates. Generally, for 4-week courses you get access on the first day of the month and lose access on the last day of the month.

  • Our courses feature facilitated conversations with your cohort led by an experienced guide. These conversations happen at consistent times each week. The dates and times are scheduled before the course begins so there should be no surprises. We do not record class sessions - the point is to do the learning together in real time.

  • When a course sells out, you can still contact us to join our waitlist. If a spot becomes available before the course begins, we will reach out to the first name on the waitlist. Once the course begins, we close the waitlist – and invite you to consider the next offering.

  • Yes, that’s the whole point. You are only going to get better if you put these tools into practice. The content we create for our courses is licensed under the Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license In other words, you can copy, use, redistribute, and even adapt our materials providing you attribute Thirdway Think, and release your adapted versions under the same licensing terms. For more information on permissive licensing check out Creative Commons.

  • We do not offer refunds for online courses. If something comes up and you are unable to participate, we generally offer two options: 1) you can apply your credit to a future course, or 2) give your spot to someone else in your organization. We get it life happens. We will find a solution that works for everyone.

  • Yes, you will receive a fancy certificate of completion, but the true markers of success are the leadership practices you implement and the network of supportive colleagues you build along the way.
