Hello? Anyone there?

Four months ago, I decided to write a daily post on my blog (in this space right here!). This wasn’t a ploy to optimize search results or even grow an audience. It was a personal experiment to get back to finding my own voice.  What do I think? What matters to me?

I’m no Seth Godin (obviously). He has written daily for a million years. Side note: if you need a kick in the pants to get your work into the world, read any of his books, but especially The Practice.

Retro telephones

As I start 2026, it is time for a retrospective. What happened on the blog?

  • I missed posting 16 days during the four-month span. Project work, travel, fatigue, and a much-needed December vacation impeded my ability to write.

  • My posts averaged around 300 words, meaning I self-published approximately 15,000 words on leadership and creativity for everyday people.

  • I published a short version of these blog stories to LinkedIn on most days too – some reached star status in the LI Universe… some were black holes.

  • I started writing a newsletter with more personal stories and reflections from my life – my list is small, but people seem to like my view from the Corner Couch (sign up here).

At first, I didn’t think I had anything to write about. But here’s what I’ve discovered. Sitting down to write helps me make sense of the world. I limit my writing time so that I don’t spend too much time perfecting my work (as a recovering perfectionist this is hard).

I don’t use AI to write these posts… that’s a shortcut I won’t take. This is my learning.  I love AI as an intellectual sparring partner, or a playful brainstorming partner, or even a ruthless editor (enough with the em dashes already!).

In December, I was reminded to keep writing. You never know who is reading. At least a few posts have sparked an interesting conversation… or a follow-up email exchange. I don’t know what will capture people’s attention (and that’s the fun part!)

If you’re one of the people in my orbit… thank you for reading and thinking along with me.
